Thank you so very much for this list!! This is exactly what I wanted :)

Another book to add to the list would be Nayantara Sahgal's This Time of Morning. My review is here: http://atpemberley.blogspot.com/2009/12/this-time-of-morning-nayantara-sahgal.html

It's a lovely book with a strong political, typically Delhi storyline, definitely worth reading :)

Anuradha

This is a fantastic list.

You don't mention your favourites ? and have you read 'Delhi Noir' ? I think it is a collection of short stories based in Delhi.

And have you read

Delhi - An Emperor's City by Vijay Goel

Its got wonderful pictures of the Old Delhi area, history of some of the old buildings in that area.

I dont think I have seen a book like that on Old Delhi.

Another great Delhi novel is Himani Dalmia's 'Life is Perfect'. Centers around a joint family in Lutyen's Delhi and modern Delhi high society. A brilliant portrayal.

I am currently reading "Delhi: Adventures in a Mega city" by Sam Miller. It has started off well with the author desfribing everything he sees as he explores Delhi on foot. Alot of interesting facts about Delhi.
